Fractured
Fractured
by Talia Franks
I feel fractured
something fundamental
is broken inside of me.
My pieces aren’t ticking
and tocking the way they should.
All this talking, all this moving
so much is getting done
in so little time, I cannot bear it.
The curves of my world have changed.
The globe has been rearranged.
The stage reset and the players recast.
Everything and nothing is the same.
All to escape the pain.
The wolves chasing the sun
Gnawing at my throat
are songs unsung,
yet another fight between me
and all my demons begun.
Fractured are my many minds.
Tasks spinning and dancing
away and out of time.
Through the water and the fire
With the air and the earth
I suture the fractures together
And call this a rebirth.
